Ardmay House International Summer School is an award-winning, family-run summer camp in Scotland for International students aged 8 – 16 years old.
Located on Loch Long, in the heart of Scotland’s first National Park, Ardmay House International Summer School gives students a truly unique experience. ‘AHISSers’ unleash their inner adventurer, experience Scottish culture, improve their English and meet new friends from around the world.
Students choose from our ‘Ardmay Adventure’ programme or the ‘Adventure English’ programme, or do a combination of both programmes!
International students are immersed in English: in English classes, on exciting Adventure Activities, and on excursions while exploring the best of Scotland’s culture and attractions.
We are family-run by the Ritchie family who is dedicated to ensuring a nurturing and homely environment where students feel happy, settled, and safe.
We are confident that we provide every single student with positive and valuable learning experiences giving them a positive outlook and fantastic memories of the United Kingdom. Being a teenager is a very vulnerable period of our life. It is very necessary to be in a right place surrounded by responsible people. Ardmay is exactly what you need if you are under 15. It was not only a language school. For me it was a right step toward my better future. I liked it all.
Ardmay, thank you very much.

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from AHISS. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.
If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Arrochar based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
