Course description

If you would like to improve your French and have some fun in the sun, how about 2 or 3 weeks in Biarritz with other students?
On the BMA Language Experience, students have 20 French classes per week, a variety of activities and excursions as well as plenty of free time.
In French class, students focus on developing their language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). To ensure students are placed in the right French class for their level of French, students complete a written test on the first Monday of the Stein Study Language Experience in Biarritz. Students have French class from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
As part of the BMA Language Experience, students take part in the following activities and excursions as a closed group:
• Welcome party
• Orientation tour

"So far the trip has been brilliant"

Charlie Byrne

Biarritz is a wonderful city and the town is buzzing with activity. The apartment I’m staying in is great and the food is delicious. My French has really improved and the teachers are excellent. Overall I wouldn’t change a thing and I would highly recommend it.

Homestay accommodation is ideal for total immersion in the French language, lifestyle, culture and cuisine. It means experiencing a new city like a local, rather than like a visitor. It means pushing yourself to speak French on the go, and leaving your inhibitions behind. It means being independent and open minded. It’s about trying something new.
The French hosts are regularly reviewed by the Language School, and students’ feedback on their French host is an important part of the review process. As the Language School organises and manages the Homestay accommodation, students and French hosts are matched by the Language School. Where possible, the Language School accommodates students’ preferences for their French host, as French hosts do vary in age and family situation.
Students have full board (breakfast, lunch + dinner) and can stay in their own room (single) for an additional cost or share a room with a friend (twin).
For the safety of students, the Language School and French hosts require parents to set a curfew for their child while in France. Stein Study recommends a curfew of 11pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 1am on Friday and Saturday. Please note that curfews cannot be changed while students are in France. We ask students to respect the Language School and their French host by abiding by their curfew.
Students are to arrive the Sunday immediately before the start of their Stein Study Language Experience and depart the Saturday immediately after the end of their Stein Study Language Experience. If departure flights are not available on the Saturday, students can book an extra night accommodation with Stein Study. On arrival and departure, students are collected and dropped at Biarritz airport by their French host.
