Are you looking for hands-on work experience to help launch your professional career? One of the best ways to impress prospective employers is to complete an international internship! Students appreciate the unique opportunity Spanish Institute provides through our internships and service-learning program.

Our internship program includes an intensive two-week Spanish Course for all two or more month placements. There are four hours of class a day and activities in the afternoons. During this time students get to know the city, the transportation system, the cuisine and they improve their Spanish skills.

Our Spanish courses are designed so that students reach an effective and operating level of Spanish in a short time, they concentrate on being able to think and communicate fluently in Spanish. These courses are the perfect opportunity to start learning or to improve your level of Spanish. The program goes beyond class hours, creating an environment with interesting activities and you are also in contact with native speakers. The methodology is participatory, intensive and mainly oral. The classes are fun and at the same time require the interest and motivation of the students.

After the two-week intensive Spanish course, you will be ready to start your internship.

With the option to either intern at a wide selection of companies, or to volunteer in one of many non-profit organizations, you will have the chance to gain invaluable work experience in the specific field of your choice. You’ll also get to practice Spanish, make new contacts and friends, and get to know beautiful Seville, famed for its deeply historic and cultural roots.

Internship and Service-Learning placements are offered as part of a study-abroad program or as free-standing experiences. They are designed to be credit-worthy with an integrated academic experiential learning course. Most placements require at least intermediate Spanish language skills, some require a higher level, and a small number are with entities that function in English or with minimal Spanish.

"Great Instructors, great experience"

The group classes were fun, and the private lessons are where I learned the most about grammar. The teachers and staff were always welcoming and had smiles on their faces. The facilitates are clean and bright and there is wifi... The activities were fantastic, with tours of the Cathedral, La Plaza de España, the Cathedral of Seville ("Catedral de Santa María de la Sede"), travel to Grenada and Ronda and various art museums and palaces. The housing was acceptable. Accommodations are sometimes sometimes at distance from the school, which causes some logistical issues. I had difficulty keeping up in one class for a number of reasons, but the school accommodated my educational needs.

The most common type of accommodation for a full immersion in the Spanish language and culture is living with a host family. Living with a family allows our students to fully discover the Spanish culture, life and people. At Spanish Institute we believe that this is an important aspect of the program. We choose families carefully and keep in constant contact with them. The family helps students to get to know Spain better and integrate them into the Spanish culture through sharing their gastronomy, talking and living together. On the first day they show students their way to Spanish Institute and everything the student may need to easily move around the city; public transport, places of interest, etc. We consider family involvement to be one of the most essential parts of the program that supports student safety and well-being.

In this type of accommodation you will share the apartment with other international or Spanish students. You will gain valuable experience and personal enrichment as you learn about a different culture firsthand. This will broaden your horizon as you will be open for and able to adjust to something different. Flatmates can be in constant contact with a language different from their own which is mutually beneficial. You will have a bedroom and you will share all the common areas of the house. When making your reservation, tell us if you have any allergies or specific needs. The accommodations we offer have been selected for their compliance with standard qualities and adequate equipment.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Seville based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
