That's Mandarin Chinese Language School Shanghai Campus

I have studied in That's Mandarin for more than 2 years. At the beginning, my Chinese level only stayed in simple daily communication. But I work in a Chinese company. I need more fluent Chinese and some professional vocabulary to help me in my career. In addition, I also need to talk about more topics with Chinese families and friends. So I think this school has helped me a lot. Now I can express my ideas and opinions more confidently, and I can understand most of my colleagues at meetings. The teachers here are very professional and can meet my learning needs. They can also teach me some extracurricular knowledge and cultural points. I would like to recommend this school and the NihaoCafe system to more of my friends.

In 2019, I stayed in Shanghai for 3 months with the purpose of traveling and learning Chinese. When I first came, I felt very unfamiliar and a little nervous. But when I studied in this school, the teachers are very friendly and also recommend me a lot of delicious food and fun places. Sometimes I study in school ,because the place was so nice! My Chinese has improved a lot, from HSK1 to HSK3. After returning to my USA, I started working, and now I want to start learning Chinese again. The school told me that I can take classes online, which is really great! I want to learn Chinese words about my own major. The teacher immediately designed a very professional study plan according to my needs, which is awesome! highly recommended!

I learned in That’s Mandarin Chinese Language School two months ago. I got a lot of help from teacher and felt confident with chatting with people in the street. Their system that we learn in the platform is excellent where you can preview and review. School is located in good place near metro and bus station and you can also rent a bicycle.

I took online course. For the first time in all my Chinese study trials I found a teacher who can fit my needs. Her lesson are engaging, not tiring at all, practical. I really felt free to try to say something even if not sure if correct. This is really great. Between teacher, me and the other students it has been crated a very nice environment of study. I need to study more, but with a little study I already feel a little bit confident in trying small conversation, thing never happen in all my previous trials. I can understand some conversation and this encourage me to learn more and to think Chinese language is an achievable goal.

I tried to teach myself Chinese in different ways, until I decided to try going to a real Mandarin School.

And I have to say, after comparing and chatting with several people learning at different schools (including friends switching school to That's Mandarin), That's Mandarin is by far the best.
The staff is extremely friendly, from the moment the elevator door opens, you feel welcomed.

The teachers are patient and skilled. They manage to improve your level without you even noticing it, for example by using their own teaching platform (called NihaoCafe). This platform contains videos with real actors (very important to me!) speaking like real people and not just computer generated audio.

You can use this platform to practice the new vocabulary at home (including on your phone), save new characters, and do some hand-made exercises for every lesson.

The office is newly renovated, with modern equipment, coffee, tea or fresh lemon water, which is already very pleasant when taking a quick break.

Also, the school regularly organizes events about a specific topic, such as Wine Tasting, Christmas Party, Mahjong night, etc.
It's a perfect way to meet new people, speak Chinese and learn about the culture.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you about my learning journey at That's Mandarin. I am a beginner, but I need to communicate with my boyfriend and his family, so I have to learn Chinese. After a period of study, I found that Chinese became more and more interesting. My teacher would give me a lot of dialogues, especially situational dialogues, which I could directly apply to my real life. I can start a simple conversation with my boyfriend and his family and understand what they are talking about. I am glad that my Chinese has improved. The learning platform of NihaoCafe is also very good. I can review and practice after class.

I have been studying at TM for three years, and every weekend I and my kids learn Chinese online w. We have three kids in our family. During the holidays, I will arrange for them to learn Chinese. We used to go to the Shanghai campus to study in TM, but now we cannot go because of the epidemic, it's a pity ! Hope we can go to China again ,but online learning is also a good choice for us. I have been studying in That's Mandarin for one year. My friends also study here. The school environment is very good. I like to read and study on the balcony here. the teacher is very patient, the teacher will correct my pronunciation in class. I also met friends from different countries here. We will chat and learn together. I like all the teachers I have had at that’s mandarin. They focus on relevant topics and are very attentive to my questions. The class topics are useful and the format of the class is smooth and easy to follow. I always end class having learned many new words and refresh on old words, as well as interesting cultural and historical topics.

When I back to the states, after a while no taking any class and no chance of practice my speaking, I felt my mandarin level has been down a lot, so I decided to take online class with my teachers again. The online platform they provide was amazing ( it was a different one at first), the new platform provides me a more clear way to review my notes. And the most import point is that I can still have the class with one of my previous teacher, it is always good to see an old face.

When I was searching for a Chinese school, I googled, and sent out a lot of inquiries, however the first and the only reply that I got is That's Mandarin, they replied to me within 1 day, and arrange a free trial for me the next day, I was very happy with the service they provide to me; so far I have been taking the online class with them since 3 months, my teacher Yang laoshi, she has been extremely passionate, gave me a lot of encourage. Overall, I really enjoy my learning experience in That's Mandarin. The teacher and all staffs are really friendly and always successfully create a 'homey' atmosphere when we are at school. The school location is also really good (at the heart of Shanghai city) and easy to reach by any type of transportation. That's Mandarin also provides variety of fun activities that help all students connect and improve our mandarin in a warm ways (which I think it's one of the reason why That's Mandarin is a step forward compared to other competitors).

I've taken a couple of different Mandarin language classes over the years, and That's Mandarin has been the best! I've had an amazing experience with That's Mandarin Chinese Language School. My classes are online in NiHaoCafe which has been a great platform. I love that it saves your lessons and if you click on kanji it gives you definitions. My teacher has been wonderful and I have learned more from her than any other teacher. I can tell that my Mandarin is getting better.

Depending on the teachers, more variety of teaching material could be useful. (videos in addition to articles etc).

I really like the school, it looks clean and welcoming, there is Tee and coffee and a nice rest area. The organization is also quite good, I receive all paperwork or any documents I need very quickly and without any problems. As for classes, I enjoy mine very much, I have a one to one class so that my teacher can prepare the material according to my interests and my level. The schedule is also very flexible, I can choose any time good for me. All in all, I am happy with the school.

I really like that’s mandarin’s class, teachers, facilities, and etc.
However, when I go over what I learned through your review pages,
I feel UI is not so good.

I need to find which class I did what and every time I need to go back to the menu.

If you can upgrade this, I believe it would be very helpful for many students.

I have been taking an online private course for about one year now, and have made a lot of progress since I started. The teachers are very good and flexible, the methodology and digital tools are excellent! I would definitely recommend this school to others.

I’ve been taking classes at That's Mandarin in Shanghai for a few months part time. The facilities are comfortable and clean, and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. My teacher has always been quite accommodating and teaches completely in Chinese, which is wonderful. I have always really enjoyed our classes!

I’m only at the beginning of my quest to learn Chinese. I have been living in China for many years, but finally decided to make the effort to learn the language properly. I follow one on one classes three times week.
