Course description

Our Intensive program runs Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for a total of 24 ESL lessons per week.

In the Intensive program we offer a vast array of complementary courses that vary throughout the year depending on the needs of students.

Some of the complementary courses we offer are:

• Applying Grammar Rules
• Skills and Strategies for Reading • Speaking with Fluency
• Building Academic Vocabulary

Course topics

Students learn through context and real situations that help them to learn in a natural way. Teachers supply new topics daily, and utilize textbooks, authentic materials and resources, including newspapers, videos and the internet, to show and teach English in an everyday context.

A family dynamic can play a great part in this global exchange by promoting understanding for other
cultures and views.

Therefore, as an alternative to our Residential program, we offer host family accommodation.

• Breakfast and dinner are served on weekdays and all (3) three meals are served on weekends
• Fees includes transportation to and from school, except for the Miami and Aventura campuses
• Public transportation to and from the homestay is available at all locations
• Florida is one of the most diverse states in the U.S. Host families may come from different backgrounds
• Up to two international students may live in the same Homestay
• Single or double placement varies by locations
• The average commute between OHLA and the homestay varies by location

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.

Travel insurance
